Post Scripts for July 29, 2014

Since 1887, The Crowley Post-Signal and its predecessors have been the newspaper of choice for readers who want the most complete record of Crowley’s history, personalities and stories of interest — and the unique, first-hand perspective that only a local newspaper can provide.

Over the past several years, our readers, both near and far, have requested additional ways to access their hometown news. In response, we rolled out e-Edition, a digital replica of the newspaper delivered right to their email inbox; and a website, which provides up-to-the-minute coverage of top news stories from the daily paper as well as breaking news, local sports scores and more.

It has never been our intent to replace our printed edition with these products. Rather, they are meant to make news delivery more timely and convenient and offer additional features such as news updates, polls and more that our printed edition cannot provide.

Until now, the stories that we post on www.acadiaparish.com have been accessible by every visitor to our site. However, since Monday, access levels to the site have changed. Story headlines and the first paragraph or two of each story will continue to be accessible and searchable by all visitors, but to read some stories in their entirety, users will need to be logged in to the site as subscribers.

Charging a nominal subscription fee to read The Crowley Post-Signal will ensure that our readers continue to enjoy the same in-depth, quality local news coverage on which they have come to depend.

If you already subscribe to The Post-Signal and currently receive a copy of our e-Edition each week, simply log in using the username and password combination that you originally used to subscribe to the e-Edition. If you currently subscribe to our printed edition but not to e-Edition, follow the instructions for upgrading to Print + Web/e-Edition.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome new readers to The Crowley Post-Signal as well as thank our loyal readers for your continued support.

We look forward to being your local news source for many years to come.
