Second couple, choreographer pairing for ‘Dancing With the Stars’ announced

The Rotary Club of Crowley is proud to announce its collaboration with the Community Outreach Corporation and the Crowley Christian Care Center in presenting the second annual “Dancing With the Stars in a Caring Way.”

This entertaining fundraiser will take place both Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Opera House of the South. Tickets will go on sale later this month.

These organizations worked together in last year’s benefit like the well-timed steps of a graceful dance, and together they invite you to join them in a caring way as they once again present their very own version of “Dancing With the Stars.”

Eleven couples will be featured as the “Stars of Acadiana” in this worthwhile event. Each week a different couple will be introduced to the public.

This week, dancers Jude Sittig and Nancy Broadhurst and choreographer Sydni Hart are introduced as participants in this year’s gala.

Jude Sittig: Sittig is married to Anne and is the proud father of three children, Bailey, Colin and Conor. He is the administrator of Southwind Nursing and Rehab Center and director of Louisiana operations for Elder Outreach.

A graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and LSU-Eunice, Sittig also completed the Lafayette General Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and is the president of Sittig Mobile X-Ray and Cardiology.

He is a past board member of the Crowley Chamber of Commerce, receiving the 2010 Business Person of the Year Award. As a member of the Rotary Club of Crowley, Sittig is happy to participate in their efforts to serve the community in a caring way.

Nancy Broadhurst: Broadhurst is a marketing and public relations consultant, having graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

Later, she attended the Protocol School of Washington in Washington, D.C., where she was certified to teach business etiquette, international protocol, social etiquette and dining skills.

Married to William C. “Bill” Broadhurst, Nancy Broadhurst currently serves as chairman of the Keep Crowley Beautiful Cleanest City Committee and as immediate past president of the Crowley Garden Club as well as immediate past vice-president of the Grand Opera House Board.

She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Old State Capitol Advisory Board and a member of the Old State Capitol Foundation Board.

Broadhurst is an active member of First United Methodist Church where she serves as a member of the Building and Grounds Committee and co-chair to its Capital Campaign. She is also a member of the Crowley Town Club Ladies Auxiliary and the “Krewe de les Dames.”

Broadhurst has a deep sense of family and community, spending her time engaged in civic beautification while also enjoying cooking, painting, floral arranging and entertaining.

“I am honored to be a part of this season’s cast of Dancing with the Stars. For me, it represents another opportunity to serve God by devoting myself to helping others,” she said.

The choreographer for Broadhurst and Sittig is Sydni Hart. Hart is married to Joshua and is the stay-at-home mother of one daughter, Allison, and one newborn son, Aries.

She has had extensive training in ballet for 12 years and is an instructor at the Core Dance Center. She is currently working a project by Darolyn Robertson in residency at the Acadiana Center for the Arts and is a member of the Movement Lab Group in Lafayette.

Hart is serving for the second year as a choreographer to this event.
