Rec football, volleyball registration scheduled

Registration will begin next week for Rayne’s 2015 season of the city’s football and volleyball leagues, as announced by Rayne Recreation Director Dwayne Derise.
The volleyball program will be available for girls between 7-11 years of age (must be seven years but not turn 12 by Sept. 1, 2015). Tryouts will be held Monday, Sept. 1, at 5:30 p.m. for 7-8 year olds, then at 7 p.m. for 9-11 year old at the Rayne Civic Center.
The Flag Football Program is for youngsters of the community (6-11 years of age). Pee-Wee League participants should be age 6 before Sept. 1, 2015 and Peanut League participants should be age 9 before Sept. 1, 2015. Tryours will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, at 9 a.m. (6-8 years of age) and at 10:30 a.m. (9-11 years of age) at Kennedy Field.
Parents can register their child at City Hall Aug. 10-24 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at the Green Room on Aug. 11-14, 17-21, 24-28 and 31, between 5-6 p.m., and on Saturdays, Aug. 15-29, between 9-10 a.m.
Registration is $20 per child, with a $10 late fee charged once tryouts are held. Once uniforms are ordered, no registrations will be accepted.
