Acadian Day to be marked August 15

A proclamation recognizing the 250 anniverary of the Acadian’s arrival in Louisiana will be read at The Depot Square on Thursday, Aug. 15, announces Martha Royer.
The event, from 10 a.m.to 12 noon, is intended to stir pride in the Cajun culture and took forward to the Grand Reveil (Grand Awakening) to be celebrated Oct. 8 throughout Louisiana.
The public is encouraged to participate.
