Elderberries host bouree tourney

The Elderberries Senior Group’s Semi Annual Bouree tournament was held on Saturday June 6.
Upon arriving the participants were welcomed by Director Jeanette Leger, after which participants were handed name tags and a bag of poker chips.
Introductions were followed with a cup hot coffee before the games began. The participants pull tiles for table and chair positions.
After two elimination rounds, a break for a hot lunch of chili with cheese and Frito’s was enjoyed.
After the next three elimination rounds the final participants were asked to count their chips. The three persons with the highest money totals of chips were awarded cash prizes. The following three were awarded consolation prizes.
First place winner was Ruby Melancon, with Elaine Brown finishing in second place and Linda Price finishing in third place
Consolation winners were Dolores Primeaux, fourth; Brandi Portier, fifth; and Joe Guidry, sixth place.
Helpers with the details and duties of the event was Contact Person, Elaine Myers; Mike Guidry setting up the tables and chairs, Helen & Carol Menard, who cooked the delicious chili, Dolores Thibodeaux, LeVerdie Breaux, Annie Leger, Elizabeth Leger, John and Judy Domingue assisting in serving lunch.
