I-10 vehicle fire delays traffic

The Rayne Police Department and Rayne Volunteer Fire Department responded just west of Rayne on I-10′s westbound lane for a vehicle on fire. Both lanes were temporarily closed while fire fighters extinguished the fire.
At 1:32 p.m., officers opened the left lane for vehicular traffic. Soon thereafter, the fire damaged truck was removed by a wrecker.
At 1:51 p.m., officers opened both travel lanes and departed the scene.
The Rayne Police Department wants to remind you to drive safely and always wear your seat belts.
