Dickey LeDay

A wake service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 a.m., both at Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice, for Dickey Ray LeDay, 50, with interment following, under direction of Frank Bros., in the Mount Olive Cemetery in Eunice. Rev. Christopher Arvie will be officiating the service.

Mr. LeDay, a resident of Eunice, died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Doretha Marie Francois LeDay of Shreveport; two daughters, Desire’ Monique Francois and Destiny Makayala LeDay, both of Shreveport; two sons, Jacoty R. Espree’ and Quintin A. Espree, both of Opelousas; mother, Mrs. Agnes L. Terry of Eunice; six sisters: Mrs. Carmencifa Jackson of Owensboro, KY, Mrs. Mary Ann Coleman of Florida, Mrs. Sinder Marie Guillory, Mrs. Faith Lee Neville, Mrs. Lucy M. Reed and Ms. Barbara Lynn LeDay all of Eunice; two brothers, Charles Heckard of Monroe and Donald Ray Ned of Eunice; and two grandchildren.

Mr. LeDay was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Norman; paternal grandparents: Louis and Mary B. Norman; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Antoine; his Godmother, Mrs. Mary Celestine; stepfather, Clifford “Stave’’ Howard; two brothers, Hillery Randle, Jr. and Joel Ned; one brother-in-law, Wilbert Guillory, Sr.

Pallbearers will be: Charles Ray Anderson, Herman Briscoe, Gary Hardy, Peter Semien, Anthony Francois, Sr., James Francois, and William Jones.
