Wild West storyteller slated

Bobby Bridger will bring the Wild West to Rayville next week.

Bridger, a distant relative of nineteenth century mountainman, Jim Bridger, will present his historical epic, “Ballad of the West” in song and story at 10 a.m. Jan. 27 at the Rayville High School Arts Center in Rayville.

Admission to the concert is free of charge. Donations to the Richland Parish Arts Council are appreciated but not required.

Bridger has been featured on PBS, C-Span/Booknotes, ABC’s Good Morning America, A&E and National Public Radio. He is an author, songwriter, entertainer and artist.

“It is a privilege for Tensas Parish have the opportunity to hear him,” Art Center Director Wayne Hopper said. “This is a performance anyone will enjoy, especially those interested in the frontier era of our history. Students of all ages will benefit from his performance.”

Programs of the Richland Arts Council are supported by

a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council.
