Margaret Meyer Simpson

Rayne - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Friday, March 9, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. for Margaret Meyer Simpson, 68 who died Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne.

Mrs. Simpson was a dedicated educator of over 30 years, devoted mother and grandmother and a loving sister and aunt.

Surviving are son, Timothy Simpson and wife Chantelle of Mire; two daughters, Cherly Smith of Rayne and Sadie Richard and husband Glen of Rayne; two brothers, James Meyer and wife Patricia of Roberts Cove and John "Johnny" Meyer and wife Pearl of Roberts Cove; two sisters, Mary Ann Reiners and husband Herman of Roberts Cove and Kathleen Viator and husband Larry of New Iberia, her grandchild and the love of her life, Ryker Richard of Rayne, sister-in-law, JoAnn Meyer of Roberts Cove, and the father of her children, Charles Simpson of Mire and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John K. Meyer and Anna Marie Habetz Meyer; two brothers Joseph "Dutch" Meyers and Henry "Fats" Meyers; and one son-in-law Jimmy "Bubba" Smith, Jr..

She was born Saturday, July 31, 1943 in Rayne, LA, Daughter of the late John K. Meyer and the late Anna Marie Habetz Meyer.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters #844, St. Leo Alter Society and the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association.

Friends will be received 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M., Thursday, March 8 and 8:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 9, 2012. at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.
