NAUW celebrates Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, the National Association of University Women, Crowley Branch, installed two educational displays, including one of African artifacts, at the Acadia Parish Public Library in Crowley. The group also donates books every year to the library in honor of Black History Month, and this year it is donating “The Butler: A Witness to History” by Wil Haygood and “Twelve Years a Slave” by Solomon Northup. Assembling the displays, and on hand for the book presentation, were, from left, Betty Morris-Gums, Cynthia Winbush (president), Sandra Henry with the Acadia Parish Public Library, Dr. Ezora J. Proctor and Pamela Thorns. The displays will remain up through the month of February.
