Crowley—A memorial service celebrating the life of Derek Peters, 19, of Crowley will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 9:00 A.M.  in Northside Assembly of God, Crowley.  Pastor Gerard Morgan will officiate.

Derek passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 10:22 P.M. in Crowley.

A lifelong resident of Crowley, Derek loved music and playing video games.  He had a helpful spirit, often assisting friends and family members with whatever help they needed.  He was always available to help his parents with chores around the house.

Survivors include his parents, Nicholl and Daniel LaCombe, Sr. of Crowley; sisters, Ivy Peters of Texas, and Samantha Peters of Texas; brothers, Damien Peters of Crowley, Daniel LaCombe, Jr. of Crowley, and David LaCombe of Crowley; paternal grandparents, Janice Boudreaux of Crowley, and Donald Peters of Washington State; grandfather, Donald LaCombe of Morse; great-grandfather, Arthur “Butch” Boudreaux of Crowley; aunts, Tiffney Miller and husband, Donald, Jr. of Carencro, Chelsea Hodge of Lyons Point, Sierra Hodge of Crowley, Leona LaCombe and companion, Glenn Broussard of Crowley, Donna LaCombe of Jennings, Traci Vallier of Crowley, Rachel Falgout and husband, Bryce of Crowley, and Valarie Manceaux and husband, Shelby of Crowley; uncles, Andy Hodge, Jr. of Crowley, Wilfred Hodge of Crowley, Joseph LaCombe of Lake Charles, and Paul LaCombe of Scott; great-aunts, Jean and Dewanna Comeaux of Crowley; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding Derek in death were his father, Jeremy Peters; maternal grandparents, Trudy and Bubba Hodge; and grandmother, Georgia LaCombe.
