Clara Broussard Miller

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Clara Broussard Miller, 79, who died at 6:50 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Acadia General Hospital.

Fr. Jude Thierry and Fr. Byron Miller will concelebrate the Mass and the committal services will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

She is survived by her five children, Shirley Meyer and husband Lee of Crowley, Terry James Miller and wife Mandy of Egan, Pat M. Derbes and husband Tommy of Crowley, Gayla Miller of Egan and Laura Heinen and husband Ricky of Egan; a brother, Nelson Broussard and wife Joyce of Crowley; two sisters, Hazel B. Bourque of Crowley and Peggy Pryor and husband J.W. of Crowley; 12 grandchildren, Marcus Meyer, Lisa Buquet, Todd Meyer, Chad Meyer, Brandi Meyer, Danielle Miller, Korey Miller, Caitlin Bertrand, and Gabrielle, John-Christian, Gracie and Zachery Heinen; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Advey and Effie Monceaux Broussard; her husband, Jimmy Miller; a son, Ray A. Miller; and two sisters, Annie Mae Garrie and Mabel Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Derbes, Lee Meyer, Ricky Heinen, J.W. Pryor, Jerod Hoffpauir and Nelson Broussard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus Meyer, Todd Meyer, Chad Meyer, Korey Miller, John Heinen and Zachery Heinen.
