Children’s summer art camp reception packs The Gallery

Summer saw an exciting development in the city of Crowley - an increase in children’s summer art camps.

The Crowley Art Association (CAA) has hosted such camps for a number of years, and this year the Acadia Players hosted its first, ultimately adding a second because it was so popular.

And these summer camps do much more than occupy children while they are out of school. Rather, they teach children new skills, provide them creative outlets, give them opportunities to socialize with new and different people and allow them to share all of their new experiences with their families.

This year the CAA conducted a total of eight week-long children’s art camps and on Saturday, Aug. 2, held a punch and cookie reception for the students to bring family and friends to view their work, which was hung on the walls of The Gallery in professional style.
