Robert L. Broussard
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Robert L. Broussard, 61, on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Reverend Matthew Higgonbotham as Celebrant. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 beginning at 10 a.m. until 10 p..m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. and will resume Monday morning at 8 a.m. until just prior to service time. Interment will be Hands Cemetery in Morse. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Mr. Broussard was called home to be with his Holy Father and Family who preceded him into Heaven on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his residence in Crowley surrounded by family and friends.
Robert was a loving and caring person who never met a stranger. He was an avid deer hunter who loved the outdoors; having cookouts with his family and friends; he also enjoyed going to classic car shows. He was a loving, caring Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Debra P. Broussard of Crowley; daughter, Rachel B. Cart and her husband, Joshua of Crowley; grandchildren, Taylor Broussard, Kristen Broussard, Kaylin Broussard and Ellie Cart; step-grandchildren, Andrew Cart and Abbey Cart; brothers, Armile “Coonie” Campbell and Lawrence Campbell; sisters, Betty Smith, Brenda Kibodeaux, Linda Benoit and Diane Corbello.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert “Robbie” Broussard, II; parents, Odey Broussard and Florence Dartez; sister, Jeanette Rawls; one nephew, Derek Sonnier and one niece, Donna Kibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be David Sonnier, Keith Richard, Todd John, Joshua Cart, Jeremy Istre and Roland “Poncho” Broussard, Jr.
