Mildred Stutes Richard

Mildred Stutes Richard, a loving and gentle mother, grandmother and friend, was called home by the Lord on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, in Crowley.

Private family services were held Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Saint Joseph II Cemetery in Rayne. Deacon Rodless Leleux of Saint Michael Catholic Church celebrated the services.

Mrs. Richard is survived by two daughters, Carla Pommier and husband Chester of Rayne and Deborah Herring of Houston, Texas; a granddaughter, Rachel Pope of Rayne; five great-grandchildren, Blake Herring, Jay Plowden, Makenzie Freeman, Chase Freeman and Audrey Morgan; and a sister, Addie Broussard of Crowley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Davidson and Louise Stutes; her husband, Claude Richard; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Herring and Jeffrey Herring.
