Lady Wolves named among All-District honorees

With another trip to the State Volleyball Tournament under their belt, a number of Lady Wolves were named to the 2014-15 District 3 Division III All-District Team this week.
Four Rayne High players were named among first team honorees, Katie Benoit, Layni Boudreaux, Charlesha Dugas and Tarya Kanonu, all juniors.
Benoit averaged over 4 kills per game for the season, in addition to 2.28 aces and an assist and block each.
Boudreaux led the offense in assists averaging 14 per game to set up the offense. She also led the etam in aces with an average of 3 per game, along with 3 kills.
Dugas was a leader at the net for the Lady Wolves chalking up 6 kills and 2 blocks per game, along with 2 aces and 2 assists.
Rayne’s leading spiker was center hitter Kanonu with 11 kills per game. She also spotted 2 blocks, 3 aces and 3 digs per game.
Named on second team from Rayne High were two seniors, Shelli Alleman and Tristan Mouton. Alleman was a back row player who recorded digs for the Lady Wolves, while Mouton donated in the kill, assist and service departments.
Lady Wolves named among honorable selections were senior libero  Whitney Fontenot, and juniors Blair Bergeron and Charlyne Peltier.
