Lambert performs at Carnegie Hall

Notre Dame High School senior Hunter Jon Lambert had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Sunday, Feb. 22.

It was the second time Lambert was selected to play in the Honors Performance Series, which was created to showcase accomplished individual high school performers by allowing them to study under master conductors.

Lambert was selected as a first violinist with the International High School Honors Orchestra. Participation was limited to the highest rated high school performers from across North America and select schools internationally. Lambert joined other performers from the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, Rio de Janeiro, Hong Kong, Mexico and Qatar. 

According to Morgan Smith, program director, “Being selected to the Honors Performance Series is something each Finalist should be extremely proud of accomplishing. We process thousands of nominations annually, selecting only the most talented performers applying on an international level.” 

Finalists come together for five days in New York City to have the opportunity to work with Master Conductor Jeffery Grogan. Tickets were sold at the Carnegie Hall box office, and the performance was open to the public and specially invited representatives from collegiate music programs.
