Gloria Jane Doucet

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 17, at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Gloria Jane Doucet, 62, who died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14,  at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, will celebrate the Mass. The family requests visitation be observed on Thursday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.

The Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Mausoleum.

Gloria was born April 17, 1952, in Crowley, to Polite and Evelia Abshire Doucet. She worked all of her life for the State of Louisiana, with her last job as an administrative assistant with the State Police.

She is survived by her parents; three brothers, Michael Doucet and fiancé Darla Spatgens of Crowley, Russell Doucet of Crowley and Donald Doucet of Crowley; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a great-nephew, Christopher Trahan.
