Richard “Moby” Worth Miller

 

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Richard “Moby” Miller announces his passing from this life on April 26, 2015, at the age of 70.

Moby was born in Jennings to the late Richard Douglas Miller and the late Worth Harrell Miller on Aug. 5, 1944. Moby was businessman. Moby loved being outdoors, where he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed reading. Moby also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Moby is survived by his beloved wife, Eulalie “Nookie” Breaux Miller of Jennings; one daughter, Kim Miller (Mitch) Saltz of Scottsdale, Arizona; one son, Matthew E. (Paula) Miller of Jennings; McCaa Thomas of Los Gatos, California, Worth Thomas Crisco, daughters of Stewart and Gail Thomas; two brothers, Douglas E. Miller of Jennings and Frank G. (Donna) Miller of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Christopher Castille, Lindsay (Matthew) Smyth, Casey Miller, Clay Miller; three great-grandchildren, Mekayla Huesers, Avery Smyth, Jackson Miller.

Moby was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Worth Miller; one sister, Gail Ann Miller Thomas; one brother-in-law, Stewart McCaa Thomas.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church on Thursday, April 30, at 10 a.m. with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. The family requests that visitation resume on Thursday, April 30, 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Carrying Moby to his final resting place in Calvary Cemetery will be Darrell Goodreau, Casey Miller, Logan Nichols, Christopher Castille, Kenny Shoates, Clay Miller, Freddie Chapman and Brant Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Ray, Rod Breaux, Jonnie Vance, George Houssiere and Bennett LaPoint.

The family request that anyone wanting to make donations, please make them to OLI Catholic School or Sabbath House in honor of Richard “Moby” Miller.
