Dwayne Lynn Hanks
Funeral services are set for Saturday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at Northside Assembly of God Church for Dwayne Lynn Hanks, 60, who passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at his residence after a short illness. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Dwayne graduated from Crowley High. He worked in Houston as a draftsman at Union Texas Petroleum. Later, he worked overseas in Saudi Arabia for several years. Dwayne traveled extensively while there in Europe and Asia. He returned to Crowley and was a caregiver for his dad. Later he attended college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and graduated cum laude in education. He also taught school for several years. In his latest employment, Dwayne worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer. He was also an avid gardener and a caregiver for his mom.
We will miss his smile he always gave us. Special thanks to our church family who held us up in prayer, employees at H&R Block, Heart of Hospice and sitter, Marie.
Dwayne is survived by his mother, Lethie Hanks; brothers, Johnny “Pete” Hanks and wife Janelle and James Hanks and wife Carol; sisters, Barney Quibodeaux and husband Donald and Loraine Franke and husband Larry; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his dad, Ben Hanks; and brother, George Hanks.
Funeral services will be conducted by Revs. Gerard Morgan and Randy Trahan. Interment is pending.
Funeral director is Dwayne’s nephew, Dustin Quibodeaux. Ourso Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
