Lady Wolves selected during All-District picks

For the second time in as many years, Rayne High’s Kelcie Bourgeois was named District 4-4A’s MVP for her pitching duties.
Bourgeois finished her senior campaign with a 16-6 record in the circle while fanning 151 batters and recording a 1.8 ERA for the Lady Wolves.
The Lady Wolves finished the 2015 softball season at 10-1 in district play, just behind district champs Beau Chene. They fell to Benton in the playoffs.
Joining Bourgeois on first team are teammates outfielder McKenzie Meche, and Whitney Fontenot and Madalyn Dupont, both utility players.
Leftfielder McKenzie Meche posted a .351 batting average during district play while handling outfield duties.
For her play at third base, Whitney Fontenot was tagged a utility selection. In addition to her quick glove at the corner, she stacked up a .368 batting average.
Rayne’s second utility selection was second baseman Madalyn Dupont. The southpaw topped Rayne’s batting averages at .440 in district play.
Second Team selections for Rayne High were catcher Ashley Thibodeaux (.250), shortstop Cecily Schexnyder (.341) and centerfielder Katie Benoit (.252).
Madison Venable was 3-1 on the mound for the Lady Wolves and was also named during Second Team selections.
First baseman Gabrielle Peltier slugged out a .321 batting average for the Lady Wolves and was the lone Rayne player included in honorable mention selections.
