Lady Wolves collect wins, prepare for district play

The Lady Wolves added two more wins to their 2015 season during recent volleyball action.
In a three-game match, Rayne High defeated Catholic High of New Iberia (25-9, 25-11, 25-11).
Charlesha Dugas led Rayne kills with 7, along with 2 blocks.
Tarya Kanonu and Blair Bergeron each donated 5 kills, while Charlyne Peltier added 4.
Running the offense were Layni Boudreaux, Charlyne Peltier and Katie Benoit, each with 5 assists.
Finishing off the stats of the win over CHNI were Karla Richard, Landri Reviere, Tajane’ Butler and Destiny Alleman.
The Lady Wolves claimed a three-game win over Carencro High on Wednesday (25-14, 25-9, 25-16).
Katie Benoit led Rayne with 9 kills, along with 1 ace, 4 digs and 3 assists.
Tarya Kanonu collected 8 kills, 1 dig, 2 blocks, and Charlesha Dugas had 7 kills, 1 ace and 1 dig.
Leading in assists were Layni Boudreaux (2 kills, 8 assists, 4 aces, 2 digs) and Charlyne Peltier (9 assists, 1 ace, 1 dig).
Wrapping up the win were: Blair Bergeron - 3 kills, 1 ace, 11 digs; Karla Richard - 7 digs; Landri Reviere - 2 digs; and Tajane’ Butler - 1 kill, 3 assists.
The Lady Wolves stand at 11-3 overall and will begin district play today (Sept. 24) at Crowley High. They will return home on Tuesday for another district match against Iota High. Play begins at 4 p.m. for freshmen, junior varsity and varsity play, in that order.
