Noah Abshire Jr.

Noah Abshire Jr. was born in Crowley, on Aug. 11, 1932, to Noah Abshire Sr. and Girsay Stout Abshire.
He was called to his Heavenly Father on March 20, 2016.
Noah proudly severed in the United States Air Force. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing Gospel music. Noah was an avid member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. He also loved to go dove hunting. Noah was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all, especially his devoted family.
Noah is survived by his five daughters, Bonnie Evelyn Jungerberg of San Francisco, California, June Marie Johnson of Pearland, Texas, Loretta Broussard of Orange, Texas, Rhonda Wiatrek of Austin, Texas, and Jenna Beach of Orange, Texas; one sister, Mary Douget of Crowley; one brother-in-law, Lonie Douget of Crowley; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Noah was preceded in death by parents, Noah and Girsay Abshire Sr.; and his beloved wife, Josie Lott Abshire.
Funeral services for Noah Abshire, 83, of Jennings, will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 23, at 10 a.m. with Reverend Doré Langley officiating.
Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 22, from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, March 23, at 8 a.m. until the time of his service.
Noah will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery with full Military Rites.
