Harold Lee Trahan

A Liturgy of the Word will be held for Harold Lee Trahan, Sr., 82, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Duhon Funeral Home, LLC Chapel-Crowley with Rev. Chester Arceneaux officiating. The family has requested that visitation be held at Duhon Funeral Home-Crowley from 10 a.m. on Sunday until just prior to service time with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 2 p.m. Interment will follow the service and will be in Estherwood Cemetery. Mr. Trahan passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his residence in Lake Charles.
Harold “Nonc Manny” or “Uncle Beck” was born on July 23, 1933 to Louise and Ovey Trahan at home in Estherwood. Harold was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and served in Japan and was very proud of his service to our country. He loved fishing, french music, gardening, making wind chimes, watching “westerns” and most of all picking on others; especially his sister Irene and Gene Stewart his best friend. He loved the outdoors; was an avid bass fisherman and never found a waterway he couldn’t fish.
He is survived by his children, Hilda Trahan and Julie Montague both of Lake Charles; Helen Defresco and Mary Tervort both of Sulphur, Harold Lee Trahan, Jr. and Ovey Benjie Trahan both of Lafayette; step children Susan Scurich of California and Paul Braquet of Iota. The family wishes to thank Helen Lefevre for her friendship with him and her love, compassion and care; grandchildren, Danny, Krysta, Jessica, Amber, Trae, John, Dallas, Christian, Blair, Alexandra, Sophie, Mia, Christina, Taylor, Aaron, Madison, Travis, Tanner, Abigail and Tyler. Step grandchildren; Conner, Katherine Cole and Nicholas and eleven great- grandchildren. He was close to nieces and nephews; Blaine, Vicky, Monica, Betty, Shelia, Dacia and Dayne and is survived by his sister, Irene Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five of his siblings, Joseph, Ovey, Daniel, Mary and Rena. In addition, the mother of his children, Betty Ann Stewart; daughter, Anna Trahan; granddaughter, Julia Landry; step grandson, Taylor Braquet; and son-in-law, Jason Tervort.
Pallbearers will be Travis Lambert, Dallas Lott, Christian Trahan, Tanner Massey, Trae Parsley, Daniel DiPetta, Conner Braquet and Tyler Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Mr. Trahan’s Granddaughters.
The family also wishes to thank Heart of Hospice for the care, support and love given; especially from Mandie and Brett.
