Gladys R. Foret

GROVES, Texas - Gladys R. Foret, 88, of Groves, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
Gladys was born in Rayne on July 12, 1927, to Vincent Roberts and Belzier Champagne Roberts. She worked at Weil’s Department Store for a number of years and as a PBX Operator for the City of Groves.
Gladys was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. She was a resident of Groves for 52 years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Gladys will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert “Bobby” L. Foret; four sisters, Beulah Thibodeaux, Mable Moore, Girdy Roberts and Verdie Albarado; four brothers, Claude Roberts, Octave Roberts, Gaston Roberts and Percy Roberts, all from Rayne; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gladys is survived by her son, Robert Lee Foret Jr. of Groves.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church In Groves with Reverend J.C. Coon officiating. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
A visitation for family and friends was held on Monday, June 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors and staff for the care and kindness shown her since her illness.
