Barbara Ann Hoffpauir Mayer

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Barbara Ann Hoffpauir Mayer, 67, who died Dec. 22, 2015, at Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, Alabama.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Emile Richard Mayer Sr. of Alabaster; one daughter, Kristi Mayer Mitchum and husband Lee of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; two sons, Emile Richard Mayer Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama; and Beau Kevin Mayer of Birmingham; one sister, Judy Hoffpauir Hebert of Lafayette; one brother, Murrell Abel Hoffpauir Jr. and wife June of Church Point; and four grandchildren, Emily Mitchum, Erik Mitchum, Josephine Mayer and Evangeline Mayer.
Mrs. Mayer is preceded in death by her parents, Murrell and Lucille Schexnaider Hoffpauir Sr.; and one sister, Murrelline Hoffpauir.
Pallbearers will be Cody Hoffpauir, Quentin Hoffpauir, Kurt Hoffpauir, Lee Mitchum, Rick Mayer and Terry Hebert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Erik Mitchum, and James Hebert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
