Barry Frey

The family of Barry Frey announces his passing on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at his home at the age of 76.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Lawrence Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier and Father Joe Tran, celebrants.

 Barry was a retired farmer, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who is survived by his loving wife, Laura L. Frey of Eunice; five children, Marty Frey and wife Rachel of Mowata, Renee Dietz and husband David of Iota, Shane Frey and wife Cherie of Eunice, Troy Frey and wife Jill of Eunice and Blaze Frey and wife Kelly of Lafayette; brother, Quintin Frey and wife Judy of Mowata; 12 grandchildren, Cole Frey, Brittany Leger, Angelle Lavergne, Stefan Frey, Faran Dietz, Kristina Stein, Jared Frey, Cade Dietz, Kaleb Frey, Victoria Frey, Kinley Frey and Aimee Frey; and four great-grandchildren, Allan Blake Hayes, Brayden Frey, Anne Marie Frey and Isabella Leger.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Al and Sis Frey; and grandson, Trent Dietz. 

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Friday, Nov. 14, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 7 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday evening.

The family would like to thank MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for their dedicated service and support for the past 17 years and to the nurses of Hospice Compassus, the family is forever grateful.
