Betty Ann Chaisson Langlinais
Betty Ann Chaisson Langlinais, 78, passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2014 in her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Rayne, Louisiana on September 24, 1936 to Emerson Chaisson and Lula Meche Chaisson. She was a graduate of Rayne High School in 1955 and attended USL University. Betty married her childhood sweetheart John Allen Langlinais in 1957. Together, they owned and operated Warners Watch Repair for over 20 years.
Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, exceptional mother, affectionate grandmother and loyal friend. She was a devout Catholic and was very active in church life at Our Lady Queen of Heaven as a member of the Ladies Alter Society, and Ladies’ Choir. She, also, enjoyed being a part of the Garden Club. She was an active member of the Louisiana Pageant Judges Association for many years. Betty was a woman of many talents. She was an accomplished artist who often exhibited her paintings at area art shows. Betty loved preparing and enjoying delicious Cajun food, and was an avid fisherman. She lived life to the fullest, brought out the best in everyone and was always ready with a friendly smile. Above all, Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 58 years, John Allen Langlinais, their five daughters, Angela Langlinais of Lake Charles, Annette Hoenes and husband Greg of Houston, Alisa Borel and husband John of Lake Charles, Allison Lemel and husband David of Houston and Anne McCauley and husband Chuck of Nederland, her sister, Martha Wilson of Houston, seven grandchildren; Scott Hoenes and wife Melissa, Emilee Hoenes, Brennan Reynolds and fiancé Tracey Norris, Adam Lemel, Claire Lemel, Connor McCauley, Carson McCauley, and one great grandson Noah Reynolds, and many loving friends she had made over the years.
Mrs. Langlinais is preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Lula Chaisson, and two daughters, Arlene Langlinais and Amanda Langlinais
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Sunday, February 7, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Sunday, February 8, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Rev. Ruben Buller will officiate. Private burial will be held at Consolata.
