Blanche L. Cormier

The family and friends of Blanche L. Cormier are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014. Blanche was born in Morse to Odey and Elidia LeBlanc on March 27, 1926. She loved sewing, crocheting and cooking. Blanche also was an active member of her church where she served as a member of the Ladies Altar Society of St. Margaret. Most of all Blanche will be remembered, by her family, as the Best Mother in the World. She will greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Blanche is survived by her son, Roy (Sally) Cormier of Mermentau; one daughter, Sarah Roy of Morse; six grandchildren, Cassie C. Boudreaux, Brian Cormier, Katrina C. Benoit, Olin Conner, Joseph Conner and Juanita Roy; and a good friend, Floyd Potier of Egan.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Odey and Elidia LeBlanc; two brothers, Earnie LeBlanc and Nettie Roy LeBlanc; one sister, Eula Mae Thibodeaux; and a good friend, Gary “Harry” Duhon.

Funeral services honoring her life will be held at St. John the Evangelist in Mermentau on Saturday, Oct. 4,  at 11 a.m. with Father Randall Moreau officiating. Burial will follow in Istre Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 3, from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a Divine Mercy service at 3 p.m. and the rosary recited at 7 p.m. by Father Randall Moreau. Visiting hours will resume on Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral service.

 Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Cormier, Trace Benoit, Kent Thibodeaux, Olin Conner, Randy Broussard and Saul Broussard. Honorary pallbearers are Curtis Benoit, Jr., Todd Boudreaux, Mark Richard and Joe Conner.
