Cornelius R. Cain Sr.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, at First Church of God in Christ, located at 328 N. Avenue B in Crowley, for Mr. Cornelius Rogers Cain Sr., who passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015, in Crowley.

Interment will be in the West Crowley Cemetery. 

Bishop Alton Gatlin will be officiating the services. 

As a child, he was taught divine percepts and given spiritual guidance by his parents. He was baptized at an early age by his grandfather, Supt. Rogers Cain, at Philadelphia Church of God in Christ in Mossville.

Cornelius attended Crowley High School. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and spending time with his family. Cornelius loved and cherished his son, Cornelius Cain Jr. (CJ)

Surviving Mr. Cain are his father, Charles Cain, and his mother, Linda Holden Cain, both of Crowley; one son, Cornelius Rogers Cain Jr. of Crowley; maternal grandmother, Thelma Cain of Lake Charles; two sisters, Timica Ceasar (Darrell) and Nicole Cain (Melvecchio Guidry), both of Crowley; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Supt. Rogers Cain; and his maternal grandparents, Mary August and Joe Holden. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, from noon to 1:45 p.m.

The family of Cornelius Rogers Cain Sr. wishes to thank the many relatives, friends and neighbors for their prayers, words of encouragement and all the acts of kindness and love offered during their time of bereavement. May God bless you all and your efforts be returned a hundred fold.
