Daisy Trahan “Shoon” Hanks

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Aug. 29,  at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Morse for Daisy Trahan “Shoon” Hanks, 91, who died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at 8:06 p.m. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.

Fr. Clint Trahan, pastor of Immaculate Conception, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from noon to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. by Deacon Tom Sommers. Burial will be in Johnson Hanks Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanks is survived by two daughters, Wilda H. Benoit and her husband David of Orange, Texas, Laura H. Smith and her boyfriend Ernie Daigle of Morse; two sons, Rufus Hanks Jr. of Bridge City, Texas and Larry Hanks and his wife Laurie of Vidor, Texas; one brother, J. C. Trahan of China, Texas; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Hanks Sr.; one son, Elton Reed Hanks, one great-granddaughter, Samara Ann Smith; 11 brothers and sisters.
