Delphine Blanche Chester

Delphine Chester was called home to be with her Holy Father and family who preceded her into heaven on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Crowley surrounded by family and friends.

Delphine was a passionate, jovial and caring social butterfly. As a licensed practical nurse, she devoted her lifetime to taking care of the sick and incapacitated. She loved music and could sing nearly anything placed before her. She loved to laugh, joke, dance and ultimately have fun as much as possible. If smiling and sharing joy with others wasn’t on the agenda, she wasn’t a happy camper! She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Terryseta Chester of Eunice; two sons, Corey Chester of Baton Rouge and Raphael Christman of Crowley; her mother, Vernice Chester Angel of Crowley; her sister, Pashine Broussard of Crowley; two brothers, Avery Chester Sr. (Shrhonda) of San Antonio, Texas, and Curley Chester of Crowley; grandchildren, Tamara Smith, Marcus Mouton and Christina Chester; and a legion of family and friends at home and abroad.

A funeral Mass of Thanksgiving will be held Friday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, located at 417 W. Third St. in Crowley. Fr. Godwin Imoru, pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church, will celebrate the Mass. Visitation will occur at the church from 8:15 a.m. until service time.

Wilturner Funeral Home of Crowley has been entrusted with final arrangements.
