Dorothy Spell Guidry

Funeral services will be held Monday. Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Dorothy Spell Guidry, 86, who died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at 3:57 a.m. at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Crowley.
Deacon Phil Lizotte will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Guidry was a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. She was a member of Les Dames Acadienne and enjoyed gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ivey J. Guidry of Crowley; two daughters, Kimberly Joan Guidry Duck and husband Eric of Forest Hill, and Robin Alynn Guidry Hearn and husband Frank of Magnolia, Texas; two sons, Michael Scott Guidry and wife Shirley of Crowley, and David B. Guidry of Crowley; one sister, Betty Joyce Spell Hoffpauer of Crowley; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clovis and Sadie Boulet Spell; one sister, Beryl Spell Watson.
Pallbearers will be Corey Hearn, Sonny Scruggs, Chuckie Guidry, Branden Leger, Joe Sonnier, and Eric Duck. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Guidry and David Guidry.
