Edana Melissa Breaux

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Edana Melissa Breaux announces her passing from this life on Dec. 10, 2015, at the age of 53.
Edana was born in Crowley to Lehman Abshire and Elta Broussard Abshire on July 7, 1962. Edana worked as a store manager. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and baking for them. Edana was a kind and giving person, who loved to help others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Edana is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Paul Breaux of Jennings; one son, Cody Lee Breaux (Kristie) of Lacassine; one step-son, Chad Breaux of Gueydan; two daughters, Lynette Henry (Deondrick) of Jennings and Dee Dee Guidry of Jennings; one step-daughter, Shally Breaux of Welsh; two brothers, Charles Abshire (Gloria) of Crowley and Shane Abshire (Ann) of Alaska; one sister, Brenda Meaux (David) of Florida; 14 grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Edana was preceded in death by her parents, Lehman and Elta Abshire; one sister, Pam Abshire; her mother-in-law, Nora LeBlanc; her father-in-law, Ernest Breaux Sr.; and her son-in-law, Clint LeBlanc.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, Dec. 11, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of her service at 10 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 12.
Burial will follow her services in Abshire Cemetery.
Carrying Edana to her final resting place in Abshire Cemetery will be Roland Teele, Charlie Teele, Terry Landry, Chad Breaux, Shane Abshire and Charles Abshire.
