Edward H. Lowe

Edward Harry Lowe of Mowata went home to be with his savior on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016. He was 72 years old. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. On Sunday, Feb. 7 at Mowata Baptist Church, there will be an additional visitation from 1-3 p.m. followed by the funeral services at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at the Mowata Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ed was born on July 13,1943, in Buffalo, New York to the late Edna Ernestine Blackwell Lowe and William Edward Lowe. While attending Tennessee Temple University, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth. The two were married in 1964 and spent most of their 51 years together in Mowata, surrounded by their three daughters and their families.
Above all else, Ed is remembered for his love for the Lord and his love for his family. Ed was the father we were proud to call our dad, and the grandfather we couldn’t wait to spend time with. His strong, steadfast faith in Jesus Christ was foundational to his own life and to the family that he cherished. He will be remembered for years of service to his church family, extraordinary friendship, contagious humor, amazing generosity and dedicated Christian witness to his family.
Ed was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly Torbett and Mary Krantz. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter and son-in-law, June and Dwayne Zaunbrecher; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Clay Armstrong; and daughter and son-in-law, Kara and Cullen Clark, all of Mowata. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas and Kathryn Zaunbrecher; Aubrey, Cassidy, and Riley Armstrong; and Elizabeth and William Clark. He is also survived by his sister, Lorraine Rarick; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the doctors, especially Dr. Randy Miller and Dr. Joseph Brierre, who did not treat Ed as just another patient, as well as the nurses and staff of Louisiana Health Care for the care and dignity with which they served our family. We are especially grateful for our church families at Mowata Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Crowley who have been faithful to pray and care for our family during these times.
