George "Bootsie" Frank Hains, Jr.



Rayne, LA - George "Bootsie" Frank Hains, Jr.,71, left this world to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.  Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, May 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, LA.

Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years Nola Duhon Hains; one daughter, Pam Hains McDuffie and husband Mark of Trinidad, West Indies; one son, Bart T. Hains and wife Lynn of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Lance Pefferkorn, Tyler McDuffie, Garrett Hains and Zachary Hains; two sisters, Evelyn H. Stamm, and Jacquelyn H. Weaver and husband Mike; and his godmother, Verna Foreman Comeaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Frank Hains, Sr. and Veda Foreman Hains.

Bootsie was a member of the Board of Directors for both the Vermilion Cattlemen's Assn. and Lafayette Parish Farm Bureau.  He was chosen as the 2008 Cattleman of the Year. He also received  the Louisiana Master Cattle Producer Award and the Master Farmer Award. 

Bootsie loved his cattle, he enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and most of all spending time with family and friends. Both Bootsie and Nola enjoyed entertaining their family and cherished friends.

Friends will be received Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm & Monday, May 26, 2014 from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.  A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Pallbearers will be Lance Pefferkorn, Tyler McDuffie, Garrett Hains, Brad Sonnier, James "Jim" Foreman and Scott Breaux.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark McDuffie, Jules Carrier, Jeff Colgins and Alphe Lavergne, Jr.
