Joseph Thomas “Jody” Clayton

The family and friends of Jody are mourning the loss of their loved one, who was called home to glory on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at 7:55 a.m. in Crowley.

Funeral services honoring his life will be held Friday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Crowley. Rev. Cullen Clark and Harry Methvin will officiate for the services. At the family’s request, visiting hours began on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home and resume Friday from 10 a.m. to service time at First Baptist Church, located at 228 E. 4th St. in Crowley. Burial will be in Maxie Cemetery.

Jody is survived by two daughters, Jessica Clayton of Crowley and Caitlin Clayton Lafosse and husband Michael of Crowley; one grandson, Elijah Lafosse; his mother, Billie M. Clayton of Crowley; two sisters, Amy Clayton of Crowley and Kara C. Bergeron and husband Michael of Crowley; three brothers, Kelly John Clayton of Crowley, Robert Clayton and wife Julie of Egan and R. Michael Clayton of Crowley; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Roland M. Clayton; his maternal grandparents, Buster and Tish Methvin; and his paternal grandparents, Curtis and Tabitha Clayton.

Pallbearers will be Robert Clayton, Kelly Clayton, Michael Clayton, Michael Bergeron, Jimmy Meche and Christian Doughty.
