Laurence “Marty” Martin Bonin

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family and friends of Laurence “Marty” Bonin announces his passing from this life into the arms of his Lord Jesus on July 17, 2015, at the age of 59. Funeral services honoring Marty’s life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, July 20, at 10 a.m. with Brother Jason Hoychick officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home beginning on Sunday, July 19, at 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday July 20, at 8 a.m. until the time of his service. Marty will be laid to eternal rest in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum in Crowley.
Marty was born in Orange, Texas, to George Bonin and Jimmie W. Durand Bonin on April 9, 1956. Marty was a resident of Crowley, but he lived in Jennings for many years prior to moving. Marty loved spending time with his family and friends. He liked listening to music and playing his guitar. Marty also enjoyed fishing, making candles and growing a garden. He also lived watching TV. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Marty is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy Duhon Bonin of Crowley; his mother, Jimmie LeJeune of Jennings; one son, Kristoffer Bonin of Lake Arthur; one stepson, Raymond Dupont of Jennings; three daughters, Jasmine Bonin Hoychick (Jason) of DeRidder, Tasha Bonin Crochet (Bo) of Iota and Tiera Bonin Robison (Samuel) of Shreveport; two stepdaughters, Donna Dupont “Peanut” Begnaud (Jesse) of Crowley and Kimberly Laughlin (Horace Edward Sr. ) of Crowley; two brothers, Vic Smith of Jennings, George Bonin of Jennings; 12 grandchildren, Tanner, Julia, Janee’, Jakin, Carson, Sawyer, Emma, Carter, Bryce, Brianna, Papop and Bella.
Marty now rests in Heaven with the family that preceded him in death, his father, George Bonin.
Carrying Marty to his final resting place in Woodlawn Cemetery will be Bo Crochet, Samuel Robison, Raymond Dupont, Jesse Begnaud, Horace Edwards and DaCoda Duhon. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Laughlin, Carson Crochet, Jakin Hoychick and Tanner Bonin.
