Marvin "Steve" Bordelon

A memorial service for Marvin “Steve” Bordelon was held on February 1, 2014 in Houston, Texas.
Steve passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on  January 27th, 2014 surrounded by his adoring family.  Born on August 2, 1944 in Rayne, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents Marcus and Marguerite Bordelon, sisters, Myra Bordelon Burson and  Laura Marie Bordelon.  He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Guidry Bordelon, his children Mark Bordelon and his wife Melissa, Sarah Bordelon Jones and her husband Mark, and Julie Bordelon Wetzel and her husband Chad along with 8 wonderful grandchildren – Seth, Kendall and Will Bordelon, Nathan and Rachel Jones, Avery, Andrew and Clayton Wetzel.  He is also survived by his brother Marcus Douglas Bordelon and wife Jackie of Rayne, Louisiana and Michael Bordelon and Joanne of Houma, Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve had a very successful career in the chemical business and later in the medical business opening hyperbaric oxygen therapy centers in hospitals around the U.S.  He was an astute businessman who enjoyed the art of negotiation.  He also created The Marcus Foundation, which distributes Life Application Bibles across the globe as well as working closely with and supporting an orphanage, Casa Amparo, which provides a safe haven for the daughters of prostitutes in Mexico.

He was an incredible husband and father who never met a stranger.  Steve changed the lives of countless people by sharing his Christian faith and offering help and guidance to everyone he met.  He leaves behind a legacy of love, caring and generosity.

He will by sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
