Murray John Touchette, Sr.

Rayne--Funeral services for Murray John Touchette, Sr., 56, of Lake Arthur were held on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne. Father Kendal Faulk officiated. Interment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2, Rayne.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation continued on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Touchette passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 8:30 p.m. in a Lafayette hospital.
A native off Rayne, Mr. Touchette was a member of the Catholic faith. He worked for many years as a rigger in the oilfield. He enjoyed fishing, drinking coffee, and eating grits. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.
Survivors include sons, Murray “Tippie’ Touchette, Jr. and family of Conroe, TX, and Ryan Touchette and family of Conroe, TX, B.J. Touchette and wife, Melissa of Lake Arthur, Keith Romero and family of New Iberia, and Chad Cole Romero and family of Crowley; daughters, Rozalyn Romero and family of Morse, and Sophie Soileau and family of Estherwood; sister, Amelia Copeland of Alexandria; granddaughters, Chloe Touchette, Nedia Touchette, and Alexis Romero; grandson, Ethan Beard; nieces, Sherri Law and Melissa Copeland; nephew, Thomas Terry Copeland II; and a host of other grandchildren, relatives, and friends. He is also survived by his loyal dog companion, Mr. Wiggles.
Preceding Mr. Touchette in death were his parents, Asa Joseph and Nedia Gary Touchette.
