Myrtle Descant Chatelain

Rayne –– Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial for Myrtle Descant Chatelain, 87, who died Sunday, September 27, 2015, at her residence in Rayne, LA.
Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum.
Rev. Kevin Bordelon, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic in Rayne, LA, was the celebrant for the funeral Mass.
Surviving are three sons, Martin Chatelain, Jr. and wife, Joey ,of Elton, Glenn Chatelain and wife, Heather, of White Oak, TX, and Samuel Chatelain of Hagerstown, MD; three daughters, JoAnn Chatelain Dupuis and Ralius of Rayne, Cathy Chatelain of Rayne, Christine Chatelain Guilbeau and husband, Kent, of Breaux Bridge; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Lafleur of AR, and Patsy Saucier and husband, DR, of Gretna; and one brother-in-law, Donald Chatetain.
She was preceded in death by husband, Martin Chatetain, Sr.; five sisters, Ruby Moreau and husband, Walter, Grace Aymond and husband, Herman, Ransey Watts and husband, William, Pearl Deshotel and husband, Cecil, and Mackie Aymond; one brother, Webster “Dick” Descant and wife, Mildred; and brother-in-law, Louis Lafleur.
A rosary was recited on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, LA.
Friends were received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA Tuesday, September 29, 2015, 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 30, 2015, 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
