Rayne, LA - Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, April 28, 2014 at 2:00 pm for Purvis Joseph Richard, 88 who died Saturday, April 26, 2014.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2.

Mr. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years Delia Theresa Fontenot Richard of Rayne; one son, Russell Richard and wife Peggy of Lafayette; two daughters, Judie Alleman and husband Russell of Rayne, and Melba Jabusch and husband Patrick of Crowley; 7 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Annociade Fontenot Richard; two brothers, Claude Richard and Clovis Richard; four sisters, Isabel Richard, Fabula Richard, Gladys Guillory and Nola Richard.

Friends will be received Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm & Monday, April 28, 2014 from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Sunday, April 27, 2014.
