Rebecca Ann Bercier Abshire Young

Rebecca Ann Bercier Abshire Young, 61, died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at 4 a.m. at her home in Crowley. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Young was born on June 1, 1954, to the late Alfred Pavy Bercier, and Sarah Rebecca Armentor Bercier of Crowley.
Mrs. Young is survived by one son, Joey James Abshire and wife Teresa of Lima, Peru; her mother Sarah Rebecca Armentor Bercier of Crowley; two brothers, Mark Bercier of New Orleans and Conrad Bercier and wife Aimee’ of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Jason Dwaine Abshire, Justin Drake Abshire, Henry James Abshire, Christopher Wade Abshire, Emily Rose Abshire, Jessica Grace Abshire and Kevin Daniel Abshire; and the father of her son, Lawrence Abshire.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Pavy Bercier of Crowley; her husband, Benson Ludlow Young; one brother, Christopher Bercier; her paternal grandparents, Edwin Lastrapes and Lucille Pavy Bercier; and her maternal grandparents, Walter Joseph Sr. and Carrye Klaus Armentor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
