Wendell Corey Wilridge

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne for Wendell Corey Wilridge.
Our Heavenly Father called Wendell home on Dec. 19, 2015, in Houston, Texas, leaving warm memories with those who knew and loved him.
Wendell Corey Wilridge was born in Lafayette to William Wilridge and Vernita Malbrough Wilridge on June 2, 1959. Having lived in Rayne most of his life, he attended Armstrong Elementary School and was a active member of the adult choir at Our Mother of Mercy Shrine. Wendell moved to Houston to live with his sister, Cynthia once his mother passed and made many friends there as he has in Rayne.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his sisters, Cynthia Wilridge Cormier and Ursula Nichole Johnson (Brian); and his brother, Kenneth Wayne Wilridge Sr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and his best friend, Sandra Briggs; and many other friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Vernita Wilridge; and his loving brother-in law, Wilbert Cormier Jr.
Wendell will be remembered for his kindness, his love of music and dedication to his family and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 26, from 7 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Kinchen Funeral Home in Lafayette.
