Rieth, Trahan engaged to wed Saturday, June 1

CROWLEY - Miss Elsie Nicole Rieth and Dr. Maxie Alexander Trahan have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage on Saturday, June 1. The couple will exchange vows during a 6:30 p.m. Nuptial Mass at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley, with Father Gary Schexnayder officiating.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Patti and Frank Barovechio Jr. and Christopher Rieth Sr. of New Orleans. Her maternal grandparents are Gwen and Walter Wedig and the late Bill Gilthorpe. Her paternal grandparents are the late Audrey and Chester Rieth Sr., all of New Orleans.

Miss Rieth is a graduate of Cabrini High School in New Orleans and attended the University of New Orleans. She is employed by Swift World Wide Resources in oil and gas recruiting.

Dr. Trahan is the son of Esther and Larry Trahan of Crowley. His maternal grandparents are the late Lou and Harry Breaux, and his paternal grandparents are the late Marie and Maxie Trahan, all of Crowley.

Dr. Trahan is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, Louisiana State University and St. George’s School of Medicine. He is completing a general surgical residency at Tulane University in New Orleans.

Following their marriage, the couple will reside in New Orleans.
