Rolling meth lab discovered in Jennings

UPDATE- Angelle Carty a 25-year-old white felmale of Jennings and Gary Thomas, 51, of Lake Charles were arrested for Possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I, II and IV narcotics.

At approximately 7 am this morning Officer Ryan Courville, with the Jennings Police Department, observed a car parked for an extended time and discovered that the plates on the car had been switched. Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Courville detected a strong chemical odor. He called for the department’s K-9 handler, Heath Ewing for assistance in the matter. The K-9 Hans “hit three times” on the car. A brief search was conducted at the scene and drugs were recovered. The car was then towed to the Police Department where a “Rolling Meth Lab” was discovered in the trunk of the car. The operation was then shut down and the Louisiana State Police HazMat team was notified to handle the chemicals discovered. Jennings Chief of Police Johnny Lassiter stated that he felt, "a good job was done by all departments involved."
