Single car accident claims life

Troop-I responded to a single vehicle, single occupant fatal crash on LA 367 in Acadia Parish approximately two miles north of LA 98 Tuesday afternoon.

Vehicle one, driven by 18-year-old Deondrick Veal, was traveling south on LA 367 and failed to negotiate a right curve and ran off the roadway left. As a result driver steered right over-correcting left causing vehicle one to return to the roadway. As the car continued traveling out of control, it began to yaw across the roadway. The car started rolling over and struck the ditch embankment. It continued rolling and struck a fence where the vehicle came to rest.

While the car was out of control, Veal was ejected on the west side of the roadway. He was taken to Lafayette General where he was pronounced dead.
