Lady Wolves finish district with win, prepare for state

Plan second-round playoff game at home Monday

The Rayne High Lady Wolves finished up their district slate Tuesday during “Senior Night” with a win over Northside High School.

Leading the offense with kills were Niesha Domingue and Charlesha Dugas, each with six apiece, followed closely by Layni Boudreaux with five, Taylor Arceneaux with four and Katie Benoit with three.

Dugas also recorded three blocks, along with Arceneaux Blair Bergeron with one apiece.

Running the offense were Mia Guidry and Layni Boudreaux with five and 13 assists, respectively.

Assisting on the back row with digs were Mary Peltier with seven, Haley Comeaux with five, and Benoit and Fontenot with three.

The Lady Wolves completed their regular season Wednesday during the annual “Pink Game” when they dropped a five-game match against Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau, completing their regular season at 26-13 overall and 10-4 in district.

The No. 8-seed Lady Wolves was informed this week of their first-round bye; afterwhich, will take on either No. 9 Westlake or No. 24 Mansfield (slated for Thursday).
