Lady Wolves named All-District

A young team is what Rayne High head softball coach Natalie Travasos had under her wing this softball season. But that didn’t keep the young Lady Wolves down.
The 2015-2016 Rayne squad pulled out a short-lived postseason, but the team with no seniors were in the playoffs.
Even with a young team, a few Lady Wolves were named to the 5-4A All-District Team.
First Team picks from Rayne High were Brittney Broussard, tagged the district’s catcher, and Madalyn Dupont as the district’s utility player.
With second team selections, Savanna Lacomb and Kennedie Bourgeois took their spots in outfield.
Trinity Axtell showed her skills at shortstop and also named during second team selections, while Brooke Moore was tagged at third base.
Rayne hurler Madison Venable was named in honorable mention selections.
