Rayne HIgh Wolves, Ladies collect wins

The Rayne High Wolves collected another win over St. Martinville.
Top points for the win for the Wolves was Drakkar Broussard’s 25 points, along with nine rebounds and one block.
Charles Jones added his 15 points amd five rebounds, while Drekylon Gibson chipped in 13 points and another 10 by Byron Mouton.
The Wolves are slated participate in the Bulldog Tournament this week (Dec. 26-28) at Jennings HIgh School.
Lady Wolves
At the San Houston Tournament, the Lady Wolves went through a rough patch going 1-2, including two over-yime contests.
In their first game of the tournament, the Ladies dropped a close one to South Beauregard, 56-53.
Leading the Rayne scorers was Charlesha Dugas with 22, along with five steals and two rebounds.
Whitley Larry led Rayne defenders with six blocks and 12 points, with Tanner Wilson chipping in 10 points and three steals.
In their second game, the Ladies dropped a heart-breaker with a 42-41 overtime loss to Sam Houston.
Charles Dugas had 16 points, four rebounds and five steals to lead Rayne stats.
Whitley Larry led n rebounds with eight, along with 11 points, two blocks and two steals.
In their third and final game of the tournament, Rayne needed an overtime period for a 50-49 come-from-behind win over Lake Arthur.
Charles Dugas led Rayne scorers with 19 points, along with three steals and two rebounds.
Teammates Tarya Kanonu and Tristan Mouton cipped in 10 points each, while Whitley Larry was tough in the paint with 10 blocks and nine points.
The Lady Wolves will participate in this week’s holiday tournament at Northwest High School.
